Entangled in vices
The tangled webs of vice
Addiction—
clamors
—for our souls.

‘I do it cause I want to’
Soon becomes—
‘It’s not easy to give up’
Controller becomes
controlled—
out of control—
a tangled web.

Try edging left—
stuck.
Right-
not happening.

Begin thrashing about!
‘Break you tangled web!’
Break!
I can defeat you!
I will!

‘I’ll never do that again.’
Done. Dusted.

Feet tip-toeing
a fine line, a narrow path
Bearing the appearance of
a master trapeze-artist!
Look at us go!

Beau-t-i-FALL!

AH! Cursed web!
Leave us alone-
How long must we wrestle in your silk!?
Time and again we find ourselves bound to your many strings…
I…I…

Oh, Master Disentangler!
Won’t you set us free?
